- Coupling
- Phone speaker a few centimetres from the microphone. Keep the phone still.
- Speech processor OFF, compression OFF, transmit EQ flat/OFF.
- Transmit noise reduction / “noise gate” OFF where it affects TX audio.
- Start with a low phone volume and low mic gain; raise until the power meter reads steadily with little or no ALC action.
- A WSPR signal is a constant-amplitude tone: the meter should not bounce.
Acoustic coupling limits
Room noise, voices and handling sounds are transmitted along with the signal. Microphone processing in the transceiver can distort the tones. Menus and defaults differ between transceivers, so treat this as a starting point. A wired audio interface will give more repeatable results; it is not required for this version.Appearance

Preferences are stored only in this browser under
wspr-web.preferences (schema v4); the last clock correction under wspr-web.clock-sync. Callsign, locator, band, message and audio never leave the device. The only network request is the time endpoint, which carries no station data. No analytics, no telemetry.
